Do you have a lot of rubbish that you need to sort through for removal and disposal? It’s not always an easy or quick job, and having to then transport the rubbish to a resource recovery centre makes the job that much harder. That’s why many people opt to hire a skip bin.
Skip bins allow you to take your time to sort through your rubbish, then it is conveniently taken away by a removalist once you’re done.
How much are skip bins to hire?
The price of skip bins can vary depending on the volume and size required. We have found, however, that it can be difficult assessing exactly how much volume you’ll need. That’s why all of our skip bins come as a standard seven cubic metres and you only have to pay by how much you fill them.
We’ve put handy markings on the side of the bin at different levels so you can easily gauge how much volume you’ve used. The markings are set at levels of 3m3, 4m3, 5m3, 6m3 and 7m3. Take a look at our handy guide below see how much skip bins are to hire:
- 3 cubic metres (max weight 500KG) – starting at $185
- 4 cubic metres (max weight 600KG) – starting at $215
- 5 cubic metres (max weight 700KG) – starting at $245
- 6 cubic metres (max weight 800KG) – starting at $275
- 7 cubic metres (max weight 900KG) – starting at $300
The kind of rubbish you have will also dictate the price of hiring a skip bin – green waste skip bins are more cost effective to hire for instance.
The way our payments work is that we ask you to pay the minimum charge to cover you up to the 3 cubic metres level, and then upon collection you can settle the balance if you have filled more than 3 cubic metres.

- The skip bins are suitable for both household and green waste.
- Skip bins are perfect if you’re on a tight budget.
- They can be located anywhere that works for you, we won’t just drop them on the street.
- Our skip bins are on wheels, which means they can be easily placed in your garage or under the carport.
Skip bins vs Load-and-go
There are benefits to both skip bins and load and go rubbish removal. While skip bins are the first option that come to mind when thinking about rubbish removal, it’s always best to weigh up your options to make sure you select the one right for you.
One of the main reasons for using a skip bin is if you need time to sift through rubbish before deciding what to dispose of. This wouldn’t be possible with load and go service. If you need to dispose of green waste, a skip bin is a much more economical option as this comes at a big discount.
Skip bins also have a handy feature of rollers on the bottom so that they can easily be moved. You can locate them on a driveway, under your carport or garage or even in a warehouse. This makes it much easier if you are working with a small space and also means that passer-bys and neighbours can’t put their own rubbish into your residential skip bin.
Many people struggle to lift heavy items over the edge of traditional skip bins. Our skip bins on the other hand have double opening stable doors at either end. That’s why they are much safer and easier to work with. This not only decreases the risk of injury, but it also means that loading the skip bin is less labour intensive for you.
With our design, you have the option to keep the lower door closed and throw rubbish into the skip at around waist height or you can have both doors open, which allows you to easily place items in or trolley in heavier rubbish items.
